Dr. Afrah is the Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Unit at Jaber Alahmad Hospital. She obtained her PhD in Clinical Pharmacy and PGCert (Researcher Professional Development) from the University of Strathclyde, Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, UK. Currently, Dr. Afrah is a member of the Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (Breast MDT) at Jaber Hospital. She is actively engaged in research and has contributed to multiple studies, with her work published in international journals and presented at leading conferences.

Scientific Committee

Dr. Dalal Alaradi is a General Surgeon with a special focus on breast surgery. She graduated from Kuwait University in 2007 and completed the Kuwait Board in General Surgery. In 2022, she completed a fellowship in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery at The Royal Marsden NHS foundation trust in London. Dr. Alaradi has a strong interest in minimally invasive breast surgery, combining advanced techniques with patient-centered care.
Dr. Abdulaziz is a Clinical Pharmacist specializing in geriatric medicine at the Ministry of Health, Kuwait. He plays a key role in optimizing medication therapy, promoting safe and effective drug use, and mentoring both PharmD students and clinical pharmacists. Dr. Abdulaziz is an active member of multidisciplinary teams, contributing to patient centered care and clinical research. He also serves on various scientific and educational committees and has presented nationally on topics related to geriatric pharmacotherapy and medication management.
Dr. Heba Alkhashnam is an accomplished double boarded plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgeon and a surgical oncologist. She holds a medical degree from University College Dublin and advanced qualifications from top French institutions, including the Université Paris Descartes and Sorbonne University, she has held key roles at prestigious centers like Gustave Roussy Cancer Campus. A prolific researcher and dedicated educator, she actively contributes to international surgical training. Dr. Alkhashnam is also the President of the Kuwait Oncoplastic and Breast Reconstruction Association, member of the French society of plastic surgery, Kuwait plastic surgery society and Kuwait society for plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
Dr. Faisal Alterkait, MBBS, MRCP, CCT, is a senior oncologist and the Head of the Oncology Department at Jaber Alahmad Hospital, Kuwait. A UK-trained doctor at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, he completed his medical training at the University of Newcastle and specialist oncology training in Leeds, earning his CCST. Dr. Alterkait has a wealth of experience, having served as a Consultant at Shrewsbury Royal Hospital and as a Gynaecology and Urology Oncology Consultant in Leeds. He established the oncology department at Jaber Alahmad Hospital and previously served as the Head of the Breast Cancer Unit at KCCC, Kuwait. He is actively involved in various oncology-related committees in Kuwait.

Moderators

Dr. Ranya holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical and analytical Sciences from Trinity College Dublin, and a Pharm.D degree from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Kuwait University. Currently, she is the Antimicrobial Stewardship (ASP) Team Leader at Jaber Alahmad Hospital. Dr. Ranya is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), the HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA), the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP), and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, reflecting her commitment to excellence in infectious diseases and pharmacy practice. Dr. Ranya has played a key role in establishing hospital-wide protocols and guidance to improve medication prescribing and utilization and enhance patient therapeutic outcomes.

Dr. Ahmad is a board-registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia, currently serving as the Cardiology Team Leader at the Clinical Pharmacy Unit of Jaber AlAhmad Hospital in Kuwait. He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Health Sciences and a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from Mercer University and has earned certifications in Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and Pharmacy Based Immunization Delivery from the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). Dr. Ahmad brings a comprehensive background in clinical pharmacy, shaped through diverse rotations during his clinical training, including ambulatory care at Grady Memorial Hospital, community pharmacy at Publix, adult acute care in cardiology and critical care in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, as well as academic administration at Mercer University. He also gained experience in psychiatry at Georgia Regional Hospital and OBGYN surgery at Northside Hospital.
Ph. Latifah is a clinical pharmacist in Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital. She holds a Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) from the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, Liverpool John Moores University, UK and an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy, Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Strathclyde, UK. Ph. Latifah is passionate about patient education and pediatric care as she is a certified pediatrics pharmacist, Newborn Care Specialist, breastfeeding counselor, and educator. Additionally, ph. Latifah is certified in BLS, First Aid, Paediatric and Adult CPR, and Safe Injection. During her practice, ph. Latifah completed clinical pharmacy training programs in the UK and Kuwait in both public and private sectors, and she was a member of the oncology team at Jaber Hospital.

Ahmed El-Sheashaey is a Senior Hospital Oncology Pharmacy Specialist at the Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCCC), where he leads innovative efforts in oncology pharmacy and medication safety. With over 15 years of experience, Ahmed is a certified patient safety professional and a dedicated advocate for enhancing chemotherapy practices. As the lead of the PPOs Advancer Quality Improvement Project, Ahmed spearheaded the modernization and standardization of KCCC's Pre-Printed Orders (PPOs) to align with the latest ISMP, ISOPP and ASCO safety standards. This initiative streamlined chemotherapy order management processes, minimized medication errors, and fostered a safety-oriented culture in oncology care. Ahmed has also been extensively involved in passing knowledge and expertise to newly established oncology pharmacy services across Kuwait. His efforts include spearheading compounding and cleanroom designs, preparing for the move to the new KCCC building, and ensuring oncology pharmacy practices adhere to the highest international standards. His contributions extend beyond clinical practice to strategic planning, where he plays a key role in developing innovative solutions to enhance oncology pharmacy services throughout the country. His leadership as the Coordinator of the Safety and Risk Management Committee underscores his commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient safety and medication management. Dr. Anwar Alnouri, a consultant medical oncologist at the Kuwait Cancer Control Center since 2015. He graduated medical school from the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at McGill University followed by two fellowships in Medical Oncology and Clinical research in medical oncology with breast Cancer being his topic. He is also the program director of the medical oncology program at the Kuwait Institute for medical specialization. He is currently the head of the breast cancer unit.
She completed MBBS from Government Medical College, Calicut in 2005, followed by an MD in Pathology from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University. During this time, received comprehensive training in general pathology with specialization in Histopathology, Cytology, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, and Autopsy. She went on to achieve the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) in Histopathology in 2023 and was awarded the Fellowship of the International Academy of Cytology (FIAC) in 2024. She has many publications in peer-reviewed journals and is a speaker at national and international conferences, as well as a contributor to Continuing Medical Education (CME) initiatives.

Sahar Aldhafeeri is an oncologist physiotherapist specializing in the management of lymphedema. Improving the quality of life for patients dealing with lymphatic disorders, post-surgical intervention cases. As a dedicated member of the Saudi Arabia Lymphedema Framework (SALF), they contribute to advancing lymphedema treatment standards and education in the region.

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, as well as the Training Program Director of the Kuwaiti Board of Plastic Surgery. He earned his Bachelors in Aberdeen and PhD in Birmingham. He successfully completed the intercollegiate Specialty Board of Plastic Surgery earning the FRCS(Plast) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He serves as Clinical Tutor at Kuwait University and was formerly Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham. He also serves as the General Secretary of the Kuwait Society of Plastic Surgeons and has forged academic partnerships with major global plastic surgery societies. Dr. Al-Tarrah is also engaged in humanitarian surgical missions and advancing surgical education.

Osama Abu Tabar relevant qualifications include: BSc in pharmaceutical sciences from Jordan University of science and technology in 2006. MSc degree from University of Oxford- Kellogg College in experimental and translational therapeutics. For the past 18 years, he has provided direct patient care at hospital settings at King Hussein Cancer Center and Foundation, Tawam Hospital, and Saudi Aramco Medical Services Organization- Now called Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare and finally at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He is a Board-Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP), from Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS). He Joined Cleveland clinic Abu Dhabi in 2015 as Clinical Staff Pharmacist, now he is a lead Oncology Clinical Pharmacist at Fatima Bint Mubarak Center at CCAD. He has been awarded a fellowship in quality in healthcare from International Society of Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) at Dublin in 2015. In 2015 Osama had the opportunity to be accepted at Harvard Medical School (HMS) as a student in a one-year blended learning program in cancer biology and therapeutics.
